Hairline and graft planning
Your surgeon plans the recipient area, expected graft numbers and a hairline suited to your age, features and future hair loss.

Under local anaesthetic, follicular units are removed from the donor area using a small punch.
-
Graft placement
The recipient sites are prepared and the grafts are placed at angles that follow your natural growth.
-
Aftercare
You can return home the same day. We explain washing, sleeping, exercise and follow-up care before you leave.
Surgeon-led Care
Dr. Asim Shahmalak has performed hair transplant surgery for more than 20 years following a career in general surgery within the NHS.
He performs both FUE and FUT surgery and plans treatment around the patient’s donor supply, natural hair characteristics and likely future hair loss.

Take The Next Step
A consultation is the first step towards understanding whether FUE is suitable for you and what result may realistically be achieved.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. The follicles are taken from areas of the scalp that are resistant to the hormone that causes male pattern hair loss, so once they have settled they continue to grow for life.
The procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic, so you should not feel pain. Most patients describe mild tenderness for a few days afterwards, which simple pain relief manages.
FUE leaves small, round micro scars in the donor area rather than a single line. They are usually not visible once the hair has grown back, even at shorter lengths.
The donor area is usually shaved for FUE. Whether any other hair needs to be shaved will depend on the area being treated and will be discussed during your consultation.
Return to work 1-2 weeks after your procedure, once the redness and scabbing have settled. Most patients take 14 days off. Avoid strenuous exercise for about three weeks.
Yes, but the cause of female hair loss should be diagnosed first. Not every type of thinning is suitable for transplantation. There are various treatment options available, including hair transplants. This is subject to the pattern of hair loss and the availability of a healthy donor.
Exercise must be limited while the grafts and donor area heal. Follow the timetable given by your clinical team rather than a general online schedule.
We will explain why and discuss appropriate alternatives, which may include non-surgical treatment, medication and products, scalp micropigmentation or no treatment.
There is no single graft number suitable for every eyebrow transplant.
Your requirements depend on:
- Existing eyebrow density
- The size of the area being restored
- Whether one or both brows require treatment
- Your preferred shape
- Hair characteristics
- Available donor follicles
An estimate is provided after examination.
