Advancing the Science of Hair Restoration
Dr. Shahmalak collaborates with the University of Manchester’s Centre for Dermatology Research, working alongside Professor Ralf Paus on the biology of the hair follicle. This academic partnership ensures his clinical practice is informed by the most current advances in trichology.
A regular speaker at international medical conferences since 2008, Dr. Shahmalak also serves as an honorary teacher and examiner at the University of Liverpool, contributing to the education of the next generation of surgeons.
Restoring Lives Beyond the Clinic
In January 2014, Dr. Shahmalak self-funded a £50,000 mission to Karachi, Pakistan, performing reconstructive transplants on survivors of acid attacks. The trip, undertaken entirely at his own expense, brought visible restoration and renewed confidence to those who had suffered devastating disfigurement.
Recognised for this work with the Fusion Awards “Man of the Year”, Dr. Shahmalak continues to make regular trips to support acid attack survivors. His humanitarian efforts were personally acknowledged by former Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
